A Case of Chronic Gouty Arthritis Aggravated by Pyrazinamide

Abstract

|
|
A case of chronic gouty arthritis of a 52 years old Korean male is re-ported in this paper. The patient presented a history of chronic tophaceous gout and moderately :advanced pulmonary tuberculosis of 6 and 3 years of duration respectively. Following the employment of pyrazinamide for 4 weeks the patient developed symptoms of acute gouty arthritis. The pyrazinamide therapy was replaced with the other antituberculous agents and´ colchicine, then the acute symptoms subsided.
